Students and faculty from around the world discussed developments in genetics, bioengineering, lasers, quantum optics, quantum computing, electronics and other applications of quantum physics.

McMurry University professor Dr. Philip LeMasters recently published an essay in a Romanian theological journal, “Revista Teologica.” The essay was titled “A Dynamic Praxis of Peace: Orthodox Social Ethics and Just Peacemaking.”
Dr. Patricia Lapoint, professor of management at McMurry University, in partnership with Dr. Carrol Haggard, associate professor of communication studies at Fort Hays State, recently published “Diggins/Reinholdt Plastics, Inc.: A Study in Resistance to Change in the Aftermath of a Merger.” The case has been included as a chapter in the new book “Cases and Exercises in Organizational Development and Change.”
Dr. Perry K. Haley Brown has been elected state president of the Education Deans of Independent Colleges and Universities of Texas (EDICUT) for 2011-2012. Brown has a bachelor of science degree and a master’s degree from Sul Ross State. She received her doctorate in Early Childhood Education and Multidisciplinary Studies from Arizona State. Brown is the dean of the School of Education at McMurry.
