Underrated? Not anymore. After going though the entire season basically forgotten, Berlin is set to make history Wednesday. With 4:33 left in overtime Monday, Igor Turetskyy sent a shot off a pair of Wilton defenders and into the back of the net to send No. 13 Berlin to its first semifinal appearance in school history with a 1-0 victory over host No. 12 Wilton. The Redcoats (12-4-3) play top-seed Bunnell on Wednesday. “To go to the semifinals is something these kids will never forgot but I told them if you win the first championship ever no one will ever take that away from you,” Francalangia said. Kyle Kureczka made eight saves and got his third straight shutout of the postseason for Berlin, who was making its first quarterfinals appearance since Francalangia played in 1994. There should be no one ignoring the Redcoats now.
