With the semester ending and the summer coming, many students are looking for an internship position, hoping to gain some real-life experience and even land a job placement. Your student may be frustrated by the amount of the internship information from the campus career office, the internet and even his social groups. Naturally, as a parent you’ll have some questions of your own: Where should my student and I be searching? How can I help ease some of my student’s internship stress? How can I give constructive advice but give my student the space s/he needs? What’s a good timeline for my student’s internship preparation?
You have questions, we have answers!
We are working with Internships.com, the largest internship marketplace in the world. Together, we provide you with an understanding about why internships are so important, as well as how you can support your student in finding and landing a great internship. T

After what I can only imagine was Teddy KGB saying, “Pay that man his money,” Western Michigan obliged by raising Jeff Blashill’s pay to $275,000 per year, and extended his contract another year, making it good through 2015-2016. Obviously it’s a well deserved raise after Blashill took a pretty down-and-out Western program and got them back into the NCAA tournament in just one year. Though the tourney appearance was great, I would argue the even bigger accomplishment was getting the Broncos back to the CCHA tournament finals, and pulling off a win against Michigan, which probably did more to get a lot of fans and alumni back in the fold. The privately raised pay increase he’s getting is likely just a small fraction of the extra revenue he’ll start bringing back to Lawson Arena.
The United States U18 team prevailed over Canada 5-4 in overtime on a Tyler Biggs goal to advance to the gold medal game, which is good, because if they had lost, I might have suggested they walk home from Germany, after allowing two extra attacker goals in the closing moments of regulation to help blow a 4-1 third period lead.

In three days the House GOP majority will introduce the latest version of the 2012-13 budget. A substitute bill will be introduced in the House Finance Committee Thursday and we can expect to see some changes.
The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that at least one amendment will be introduced to deal with the deep cuts in state funding to school districts already reliant on local property taxes.
Battered by angry crowds at suburban school district meetings in recent days, House Republican lawmakers will offer up changes Thursday limiting the budgetary pain inflicted on schools by Gov. John Kasich’s budget proposal.
House Finance Chair Ron Amstutz said many changes to the $120 billion, all-funds budget proposed by Kasich are coming, including tweaks to a controversial blueprint for funding schools over the next two years authored by the Republican governor.
“We are looking to take the edge off of this problem across the spectrum of school districts — not just for the upper” property wealth districts, said Amstutz, a Wooster Republican shepherding the budget through the GOP-controlled House.

an overhauled process for evaluating Indiana teachers — passed in the House.
Two other major education bills, which would expand charter schools and let parents use tax-supported vouchers for private school tuition, are nearing final legislative votes and are expected to pass in the next week.
Daniels’ signature on Senate Bill 575 immediately prevents new teacher labor contracts from extending beyond two years and stops any current bargaining talks on teacher evaluation procedures.
Most of its provisions, such as limiting teachers unions to bargaining only on wages and wage-related benefits such as health insurance, go into effect July 1.
The teacher evaluation measure, Senate Bill 1, was approved by the House in a 60-32 vote.

Nazarene Bible College is proud to feature Larry Mancini in his very own Guest Blog. He is our second 1st place NBC Experience contest winner. We are thrilled to share his story and hope you enjoy.
The trek from New York to Colorado Springs took several days. When the Rocky Mountains with Pike’s Peak came in sight a new chapter in my life began, a very good chapter.
I remembered being in awe the very first day of classes when each professor opened their class with prayer. I remember chapel services where we met with the LORD. I remember Dr. Attig, Dr. and Mrs. G.B.Williamson, Dr. Janet Williams, Dr. Floyd Perkins and Milo Arnold and many others who poured their lives into us to make us the best we could be for the Master.
It is interesting that as time goes on my memories of being on the campus 32 years ago do not fade, rather they seem to become more intense.
